When Kevin Nash pulled out of a TNA PPV match with Chris Sabin due to injury, speculation suggested he was faking (or exaggerating a minor condition) the ailment to get out of doing a job for Chris Sabin.
Reports from various wrestling sources, however, made Nash seem less like a villain. The word at the time was that the booking for the match called for Nash to dominate Sabin for the entire bout, only to be pinned in a fluke finish. If he were faking (which is certainly not confirmed), the reports suggested that he wasn’t doing so out of refusal to put over the X-Division wrestler.
The Wrestling-Observer Newsletter, however, says that there were never plans in place for such a match format—the sheet says that, from day one, the angle’s goal was always to put Sabin over as a legitimate star. [/glow]
