The 'Last Rights' match between Abyss and Sting at next month's
Destination X pay-per-view will require the winner to strap his opponent to a
cross-like structure to win. There are no plans for Abyss to lose his mask,
and losing the mask isn't something he's interested in doing anyways.
'The Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels is getting a new gimmick, although it
is not known as to what it is just yet. Vignettes will continue to air until he is
reintroduced. Also, he won't be doing any wrestling until the unveiling.
Bob Backlund, 58, walks to and from the hotel to the Impact Zone - and it's
a long walk - 30 to 60 minutes. He attributes his current good health to all the
walking he does and estimates he finds an average of 50 cents a day in
change while walking. He also starts his day with a glass of carrot juice and
garlic. He says the concoction is the closest thing in nature to "human blood."

source:24wrestling.com Christy Hemme is scheduled to go heel soon managing a heel team vs. VKM.
Heart Throbs have been talked about but have not signed any sort of deal
with the company as of right now. TNA management apparently liked their
ring entrance during a tryout several weeks ago but were not very fond of
their in-ring work. We'll keep you posted.

Hulk Hogan appeared on the Bubba the Love Sponge radio show this afternoon. A variety of topics were discussed in regards to Hogan Knows Best, starting a wrestling promotion, Hogan vs. Russo and more. Perhaps, the most interesting comment made was in regard to Hogan's status in the WWE. Hogan stated he is not involved in WrestleMania 23 and is quoted as saying he apparently no longer works for the company anymore.
Hogan also claimed that he got in trouble following his last appearance on Bubba's show after the Hall of Fame candidates were spilled on the air by Vince McMahon's secretary.
In regards to Hogan's status with the WWE, it must be made clear that Hogan has a tendency to exaggerate or overstate things. Another interesting note, the WWE merchandise website has put Hogan's merchandise on a special clearance sale.

TNA sent a memo to its wrestlers this week telling them that they can no longer do interviews with any type of media entity without prior approval from management.
They were also told not to say negative comments about the company in their interviews as well. Any violation of these terms according to the memo will result in a wrestler losing the equivalent of their next PPV payoff.
As you can probably guess, this memo by TNA was prompted after Kip James made some negative comments about TNA in a radio interview two weeks ago. James' comments actually led to what was described as an intense discussion between James and TNA's talent relations director Terry Taylor.

The current plan is to put Christian Cage, AJ Styles, Tomko and Scott Steiner together as a heel group.
TNA requested that Samoa Joe leave ROH for a number of reasons. They want to give him the NWA Title soon but they have fears that he could be injured while working for ROH. They also want him to focus more on dates that they have booked for him. This could include international dates for New Japan as well as AAA in Mexico. Joe may be back in ROH sooner or later for one shots here and there but it won't be anytime soon. They are however still allowing Homicide, Austin Starr and Christopher Daniels to all work for ROH since they aren't currently used as top stars in TNA.

Showdown.net wrapped up 8 hours of wrestling radio shows (which included an exclusive interview with Candice Michelle) on Sunday 1/28 with special guest Kip James on a show called Carnage. The show started off with a bang when the hosts announced Trish Stratus would be taking part in the fun on WM Sunday! The AudioWrestling.com site runs All-day coverage every year for WM and several of the shows host their own WM PPV parties at local sports bars. This year, Trish Stratus will be participating in one of these parties and there will also be a post WM dinner date with Trish for the lucky winner of a contest. All of the details for this Trish Stratus appearance and contest will be released on Showdown.net in the days to come.
Kip James walked into the studio. Here are the highlights (the full 30 minute interview can be heard for free on the Showdown.net site).
Kip commented on Cena using the Fame-Asser on the Rumble PPV. Kip said Cena steals a lot of stuff but it is okay since Cena "is limited."
Most of the VKM material is from BG James and Kip themselves. Vince Russo, who is writing at TNA basically lets VKM do their own thing without getting too involved.
The hosts reminded Kip that their airwaves are Internet-only (every Sunday night live at 11PM EST. on Showdown.net) and he was free to curse, this was when Kip seemed to really get comfortable.
Kip made some bold statements. Kip said "When you've seen one X Division match you have seen them all."
Kip says he is a huge General Hospital fan and that [WWE] wrestling has gotten away from the cliffhangers that make people want to watch week to week. The hosts take WWE's side and say TNA drags their angles out too long. Kip says TNA has a much smaller fan base so it takes longer for the mass of fans to grasp the storyline. Because of this, it is important for TNA not to move their angles as fast as WWE.
Kip says Vince McMahon's ego will not allow himself to comment on VKM on WWE TV. Kip says Vince probably "loves" the angle since it was Vince's own original ideas being reversed on him.
Kip puts over LAX.
Kip says TNA gives the fans too much in one hour and they are not leaving the fans wanting more the following week.
Kip says TNA is wasting Bobby Roode. Kip says Roode is going to be a HUGE star and it WON'T be from TNA because "they don't know how" [to push a guy]. Kip jokes that he is probably going to get fired tomorrow at the TNA tapings for what he says in this interview. {Note to TNA officials: Kip's attitude towards TNA was much more friendly than how Kid Kash was in that "other interview" I recapped two years ago that seemed to cause a lot of trouble in your office}.
Kip says he has heat with Rico (former WWE wrestler).
Kip says he would "leave TNA in a heartbeat" if WWE offers him enough money. Kip says he actually left WWE on good terms and was just victim of WWE wanting to refresh the locker room. Kip said he was in WWE for 13 years.
Kip said he won a lot of things in WWE but it didn't mean nuts. Kip talks about his feud with The Rock and jokes about being mad at him because he didn't get his copy of Gridiron Games in the mail yet.
Kip says women have no place in the wrestling ring. Kip said Miss Texas and Luna are the only two that could wrestle like guys. Kip said he didn't like Lita after the hosts put her over. Kip says adding the "ugly ass" girls of TNA to a new women's division would be a big waste of TNA's already limited time.
Kip says the addition of Kurt Angle to TNA is a good thing for TNA. The hosts mention the upcoming "all WWE main event" of the TNA PPV and Kip said he really doesn't want to see it and that he will probably drive home before the match even starts. Kip said he doesn't even remember when the next TNA PPV is taking place.
Kip talked about an encounter earlier that day with the local cheerleaders from the Arena Football League and a funny road story about an auto accident involving him and BG James that Ken Shamrock and Vince McMahon got involved in. The interview ended and Kip jetted out of the studio for his flight to Florida for the TNA tapings the next day.
The full interview can be heard for FREE in streaming Real Audio right now on Showdown.net
The Candice Michelle interview that was mentioned earlier is now archived on AudioWrestling.com and that site will be having interviews with Jim Ross, Vampiro and Ron Jeremy in the weeks to come (wait, why is Ron Jeremy going to be on wrestling radio?)

The Dearborn Press and Guide has an interview up with Rhino where he discusses his career and where he is at now with TNA.
It is interesting to note that Rhino admits he didn't burn the real ECW World Championship last year in an angle with TNA against the new ECW and that the real belt is in Dearborn, MI.
He also added that WWE contacted him about getting the belt back when they relaunched the new ECW.

According to reports, there is talk that Samoa Joe is in for a major push in the next few weeks. So, it looks like things could get rolling for Joe starting with the Against All Odds PPV this Sunday and the TV tapings that follow it. Given the recent information about his departure from Ring of Honor, this news shouldn't come as a big surprise and looks to be the reason why TNA never fully took Joe to the top during his stay with the company.
TNA Wrestling will have a busy week starting with this Sunday with the company's Against All Odds PPV being headlined by Christian Cage and Kurt Angle for the NWA World Title. Following the PPV on Sunday, a two-hour Monday night special will air on Spike TV on February 12 with WWE Monday Night Raw being preempted due to the Westminster Dog Show. While the two-hour special airs on Spike TV, TNA will be holding two weeks worth of TV tapings for iMPACT! that same night in Orlando. In addition, tickets for the company's Lockdown PPV in St. Louis will also go on sale Friday, February 16. It is safe to say that things are really starting to pick up for TNA considering where they were just a year ago.
Spike TV will be airing a preview show for the Against All Odds PPV on Saturday, February 10 at Midnight. As they have been since the specials started airing, TNA will run the entire special on their website if you miss it on TV.

There's a lot of excitement internally about next Monday's TNA special on SpikeTV.
As expected, there is some heat on Kip James over some comments he made on a radio show appearance earlier in the week. He dismissed the X Division ("When you've seen one X Division match you have seen them all.") and said that he would leave TNA for WWE in a heartbeat if the money was right.
After a recent television taping, Backlund was seen walking back to the hotel instead of getting a ride. Someone saw him on the side of the road and offered him a ride, but he turned it down.
Maxim Magazine's official website will feature TNA next month. Maxim online will feature countdowns, rankings, Q&A’s, Knockout photos and more.

Chris Jericho's band "Fozzy" was featured in a music video for TNA prior to "Bound for Glory" and has given TNA permission to use the band's song "The Test" off their album "All that Remains." TNA will be featuring the song on the upcoming two-hour Monday night special on February 12th on SpikeTV.
Kurt Angle will be appearing on the nationally syndicated "Mancow" radio show on Monday, February 6. I'm always afraid to hear what he says next. Also, on February 9 Samoa Joe will appear on the "Derek and Romaine Show" on Sirius Satellite Radio, while Kurt Angle will be at it again on "Bubba The Love Sponge."
Bob Backlund will be a regular fixture in TNA for the next several months.

According to Dave Scherer of PWInsider, Rob Van Dam is definitely unhappy in WWE right now. Much of it has to do with the direction that the ECW brand has taken recently, in addition to his personal situation on the brand.
RVD was originally excited about the return of ECW, especially with Heyman at the helm, since he believed he finally would have a place within the WWE where he would fit in. That obviously doesn't seem to be happening right now.
Scherer adds that many people inside the company would not be surprised at all to see RVD jump to TNA after his WWE contract expires. It is believed that RVD still has about a year left on his current deal.
