The Wrestling-Observer Newsletter reports that at a recent production meeting, Vince McMahon blamed ECW’s struggle on the lack of humor featured on the weekly show.
McMahon’s desire for a more humorous ECW somewhat contributed to the recent placement of Brad Armstrong (in something of a tryout) at the commentary table. During the production meeting, Bruce Prichard put over Armstrong’s sense of humor, arguing that Armstrong would shine as a commentator because no one else on the show is funny.
Tazz reportedly viewed the move as a power play on WWE’s part to send the message that he could easily be replaced should he choose to turn down WWE’s contract offer.
Tazz, however, has been doing some tough negotiating of his own by playing up offers he received from radio stations.
